SDS authoring and chemical compliance for North America.

OSHA HazCom and WHMIS 2015 safety data sheets, labels and import documentation for US and Canadian importers, exporters, distributors and growing manufacturers.

Fixed-price quotes Expert-prepared Audit-ready

Selling chemical, cleaning, coatings or cosmetic products across the United States and Canada means meeting two related but separate rulebooks. Both follow GHS, yet OSHA and Health Canada differ on classification details, exposure limits, supplier information and language. Shipments and marketplace listings get held when the SDS, label and customs paperwork do not match. Chemply prepares North America ready documentation so your products clear customs, pass marketplace review and reach buyers without rework.

For US importers and exporters

If you import chemical products into the United States, you carry the duty to provide a compliant SDS and label and to certify TSCA status at entry. We review formulations, re-classify under OSHA criteria and prepare US format SDS and labels that support customs clearance and distributor onboarding.

US exporters shipping north into Canada need WHMIS documents in English and French with a Canadian supplier identifier. We adapt your US SDS into compliant bilingual WHMIS documentation so one product line can be sold on both sides of the border.

For small and medium sized companies

Most SMEs do not need an in house regulatory department, they need correct documents on time. Chemply works as your external compliance team: a fixed quotation after review, clear lists of missing information, and a plain English summary of every revision.

Send the product details and target market. We confirm scope within one business day, prepare the documents and deliver files ready for customs, marketplace and buyer review.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can one SDS cover both the United States and Canada?

Sometimes, with care. OSHA HazCom and WHMIS 2015 are both GHS based and broadly aligned, so a single document can be structured for both markets when the classification, supplier details and exposure limits suit each jurisdiction. Canada also requires English and French. Whether one combined SDS or two market versions is the better choice depends on the product and your distribution model.

Do US companies need Safety Data Sheets?

Yes. Under OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), chemical manufacturers, importers and distributors must prepare and provide a Safety Data Sheet for each hazardous chemical they produce or import, in the 16 section GHS aligned format.

Are EU SDS valid in the United States or Canada?

An EU SDS is useful source material but should be reviewed before use in North America. OSHA and WHMIS have their own classification rules, required content, exposure limit references and supplier information. Translating an EU document alone does not establish compliance.

Do SDS and labels for Canada need to be bilingual?

Yes. Under the Hazardous Products Regulations, SDS and labels for Canadian workplaces must be available in English and French. Chemply can deliver a combined bilingual document or separate files.

What is TSCA import certification?

Importers of chemical substances and mixtures into the United States generally must certify to US Customs that the shipment complies with the Toxic Substances Control Act, or is not subject to it. This depends on the inventory status of each substance. Chemply supports inventory screening and document consistency; the certification itself is made by the importer.

Does Chemply help with US cosmetics under MoCRA?

Yes. We review documentation against the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act, including facility registration, product listing, responsible person details, labelling and safety substantiation. Filings are made by the responsible party.

Can you prepare SDS for Amazon US and other marketplaces?

Yes. We prepare and review SDS and classification documents formatted for marketplace safety and dangerous goods review, so product names and hazards match your listing, label and shipping papers.
